In Bloodshot, Ray Garrison is a soldier killed in action and then resurrected by the corporation Rising Spirit Technologies (RST) using experimental nanite technology. He becomes “Bloodshot,” a super‑soldier with power to heal, super strength, speed, etc., but with memory loss and ambiguous control over his own purpose. He eventually uncovers that RST manipulated his memories, and that they have created other augmented soldiers too — including Jimmy Dalton and Tibbs.

By the film’s end, Ray successfully destroys RST’s main facility, confronts Dr. Emil Harting (the head of RST), and presumably kills Jimmy Dalton in the climactic fall down an elevator shaft. He also gains full control over his nanite system after Wilfred (the hacker) helps him remove the need for recharging in a lab.
A number of “loose threads” and hints are left to support a sequel: neurons about whether Harting is definitively dead; whether there are more experiments or super soldiers out there; Ray’s lost memories (for example, the life he thought he had, the woman he loved, what actually happened before his resurrection) could be explored further.

Rumors suggest that Bloodshot 2 might explore several possible directions: Ray traveling with his allies (KT, Wilfred) dealing with threats from other labs or governments trying to exploit or replicate nanite tech; more about his past, memory, identity; maybe even a turn in Ray’s character arc toward antihero / antagonist territory, depending on how much he is manipulated or how much control he truly has.
