The Medallion is an action-comedy film released in 2003 starring Jackie Chan as Eddie Yang, a skilled Hong Kong police officer who becomes involved in a supernatural adventure. The story begins with Eddie and his team working alongside Interpol to stop a dangerous international criminal named Snakehead, who is involved in human trafficking and mysterious ancient artifacts. During one of the missions, Eddie discovers that Snakehead is searching for a powerful medallion that holds the secret to immortality.

The medallion is linked to a young boy named Jai, who is chosen as its guardian. This ancient relic has the power to give supernatural strength and even bring the dead back to life. Snakehead kidnaps Jai in order to use the medallion for his evil plans, aiming to gain immortality and become invincible. Eddie, determined to stop him, follows the trail to Dublin, Ireland, where the story takes a supernatural turn.
During a confrontation at a port warehouse, Eddie is fatally injured while trying to rescue Jai. However, after his death, he is brought back to life by the power of the medallion. When he awakens, he discovers that he now possesses superhuman abilities — he is stronger, faster, and almost invincible. With his newfound powers, Eddie sets out to defeat Snakehead and rescue Jai once and for all.
Along the way, Eddie teams up with Interpol agents including his ex-girlfriend Nicole, played by Claire Forlani, and Arthur Watson, played by Lee Evans, who provides comic relief throughout the film. Together, they face various obstacles and uncover the deeper mystery behind the medallion’s origins and powers. Their teamwork, combined with Eddie’s martial arts skills and supernatural strength, leads to a series of fast-paced and humorous action scenes.

The film blends action, comedy, and fantasy in a unique way, showcasing Jackie Chan’s signature fight choreography mixed with special effects. Although the plot involves ancient legends and mystical elements, it stays grounded in fun and adventure, making it accessible to a wide audience. The combination of Eastern mythology and Western detective elements adds a distinctive flavor to the movie.
In the final battle, Eddie confronts Snakehead, who has also used the medallion to gain immortality. Their clash is intense, but Eddie ultimately uses both his skills and his sense of justice to defeat him. The film ends on a light-hearted note, with the heroes victorious and the medallion’s powers safely out of evil hands, leaving the world at peace once again.
